My Journey

I’m the daughter of immigrants from Germany and Sweden. I grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where I learned early what it feels like to not always be understood.

When I was in graduate school to become a Speech Therapist, a professor told me I had to “fix” my pronunciation before I could graduate. Like my mom, I said “mouf” instead of “mouth.” I couldn’t hear the difference, and no one had ever told me before.

That moment could have been a setback, but it changed my life. It inspired my lifelong passion to help others find their clearest, most confident voice.

After earning my degrees in Speech-Language Pathology, I spent many years helping adult patients regain their ability to communicate through illness or injury.

In 2018, a friend’s husband, an international scientist who wanted to advance his career, asked for help improving his English pronunciation. 

Word spread quickly, and soon I was training other professionals who wanted to be understood.

Today, as the founder of SpeakEasy! PRO Academy, I combine more than 40 years of experience in speech science, neurolinguistics, psychology, and AI-powered learning. 

My mission is simple: to help people around the world speak clear, natural American English that reflects their true ability and advances their families economically.
