Managing a small business today is already tough. SpeakEasy! PRO Academy is more than a suite of AI-enabled pronunciation micro-courses. It’s the first global talent network of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) dedicated to helping English learners achieve clear, confident, and natural American-English pronunciation.
Join the SpeakEasy! PRO Network
Where SLP experise and AI Innovation meet to support multilingual professionals worldwide.
Why Join the SpeakEasy! PRO Network?
- Reach more learners and partner institutions around the world with a modern, engaging learning experience.
- Use your SLP expertise alongside AI-powered feedback to advance universally understood English pronunciation for multilingual adults—grounded in proven adult learning (andragogical) practices.
- Protect course quality with secure, non-editing instructor roles that are Section 508–aligned.
- Dedicated to making clear, natural spoken English accessible through an SLP registry that shapes the next generation of pronunciation training by keeping up with the quickly changing adult e-learning environment.
Why SpeakEasy! PRO has Two Instructor Roles
To support the needs of a global e-learning community, SpeakEasy! PRO Academy offers two distinct instructor roles.
Each role protects course quality, supports professional growth, and offers flexibility—while using the same powerful, robust foundation.
- AI-enabled pronunciation practice
- An open-source, cloud-based LMS
The difference is how you choose to work:
- Associate Instructors work independently with learners.
- PRO Instructors teach through structured government, corporate, or academic programs with SpeakEasy! PRO.
When an opportunity arises, you choose the role that best aligns with your goals.
We support with visibility, cloud technology, and direct learner access.
Your expertise. Your path.
How to Get Started
- Schedule a Discovery Zoom with Cindy to review credentials, experience, and alignment with the mission.
- If approved, the SLP will be added to SpeakEasy! Team Directory – a global expert marketplace, a public-facing directory where motivated stakeholders, including learners, find and contact instructors.
🎓 Associate Instructor (Private Practice)
Build Your Global Private-Practice Pathway • Learner-Centered • Flexible Schedule
As an Associate Instructor, you remain fully independent. Associate Instructors work directly with learners who reach out via the Team Directory. This role is ideal for SLPs and ESL instructors who want to maintain control over their methods, schedule, and rates.
How an Associate Instructor Works to Build or Expand Their Private Practice
- Learners self-enroll in Discovery 7 → chooses you → you and the learner connect directly through your instructions in your profile in the Team Directory.
- Offer a free 20-minute discovery meeting. Clarify how your private-practice model works. Proceed as a direct hire; all fees, scheduling, and services remain entirely between you and your learner.
- You and the learner subscribe to the same Discovery 7 course and receive free access for the first 30 days.
Instruction is delivered through the open-source, cloud-based LMS platform, combining opportunities:
- AI feedback paired with pronunciation practice increases engagement while maintaining privacy.
- SpeakEasy! PRO does not supervise or control instructional delivery.
- In live sessions, you provide your private practice methods in the ease of the course’s native, virtual BigBlueButton.
- Your asynchronous input to the learner’s recorded assignments ensures accurate practice.
- SpeakEasy! PRO provides technical implementation support and a rapid WhatsApp response time.
- Joining does not create an employer-employee or joint venture relationship.
💬 Your instruction. Your learner. Your price.
💼 PRO Instructor (Independent Contractor)
Mission-Driven • Learning Platform + Marketplace • Institutional Projects
How a PRO Instructor Works as an Independent Contractor:
- You maintain all compliance standards to deliver a world-class, premium instructor-led AI-enabled pronunciation training.
- Perform work outside the usual course of SpeakEasy! PRO and bring your own computer and skills.
- California allows LMS platform-style service models to use an independent contractor when they are free from control and direction. PRO Instructors bring their own SLP licensure; they control their service delivery with professional judgement, not company control; they can work on projects, set their hours, and independently market themselves.
- A tailored Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for your project’s scope, deliverables, and compensation, in accordance with the agreements, to ensure alignment and protect the delivery of SpeakEasy! PRO Academy’s curriculum.
- SOW opportunities may range from long-term engagements to short, discrete projects, all scheduled by you.
- SpeakEasy! PRO provides a workspace in the LMS for enhanced grade-book and management tracking (not full admin).
- You meet learners 1:1 inside the private, native-to-the-course virtual classroom for ease and a consistent experience.
- SpeakEasy! PRO manages platform training, not training in “how to do your job”.
- No taxes are withheld. The independent contracting SLP is responsible for estimating and paying their own taxes and receives a Form 1099-NEC (for nonemployee compensation) form when paid in annual terms $600 or more.
